Just call me grandma.
I really love grandparents, on my way to the Roxy last night I passed the cutest old lady crossing the street in Brentwood. She had her two little poodles with her and was so happy when I stopped to let her cross. It was really sweet. Honestly I hope I’m like her when I’m in my 70’s, happy, old and walking my poodles.
When I was little my grandma basically raised me, she tough me to sew, clip coupons, watch Price is Right and told me stories about living in Poland during the war. I was always fascinated by her wisdom, generosity, spunk and tranquility (such a fabulous combination).
I love grandparent because they don’t take things so seriously. They’ve been through it all and they know that in the end its all gonna be Okay. They skip out on the stress that the rest of us thrive on. They remember to enjoy all the little things. They give you a dollar to see you smile, even if they’ve only got 2 for the week. I don’t really want kids (at least not now) but I would like to be a grandma. So do me a favor and just call me Grandma, cause that’s who I want to be.
