don't want to be an american idiot.

I've been having one hell of a time updating this thing. The real deal is this year has been CRAZY for me. January is the last time I updated this thing, JANUARY! What. OMG it seriously feels like not that long ago, but in fact its been 5-months.
To recap.

February: The Grammy's + tons of stress (my calendar = a bunch of massage and acupuncture appointments)
March: Ann Arbor Michigan to hang with The Films in studio. SXSW (enough said).
April: Easter in San Jose with the fam. Warner Music Group conference in Palm Springs. Coachella.
May: Bamboozle. KROQ Weenie Roast. BMI POP awards. ASCAP POP awards

hoooogh! I'm exhausted already, I thought I was going to write a lot more, but it'll have to wait.

Daryl Palumbo

Daryl Palumbo, Daryl Palumbo, LA LA LA… Just as my good friend Hooks would say… Daryl Palumbo, Daryl Palumbo, LA LA LA.

HOT has a new definition and his name is Daryl Palumbo. WOHA did Head Automatica rule last night. It was one of the freaking best shows I’ve been to in a long time.

First off I meet up with my Girlies (Jean, Michele and Lena) at El Compadrea for Margaritas. Then we made our way to the ROXY for one of the best shows to come to town in a long time… HEAD AUTOMATICA.

Morningwood
opened and I have to give it to the singer, regardless of some of the slack she gets for not being rock’n roll enough she’s fucking entertaining. I mean anyone who can get a fan to come on stage and take off her clothes (and show boobie no less) during a song titled “Take Off Your Clothes” pretty much rules.

Then… as if the night could not get any better HEAD AUTOMATICA came on. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. The last time I had so much fun, must have been when The Killers played the Troubadour… No maybe it when Tegan and Sara played Coachella and I had a few too many cocktails in the limo on the way there… In any event. LAST NIGHT RULED. I was with my girls and we all rocked out.

H.A. has to be one of the most good looking bands I’ve seen in a long time. When Daryl walked out on stage I’m just gonna tell you now, I let out the shriek of a 14 year old girl. When that boy walks on stage, it’s like he transforms personalities into superstar
extraordinaire.

The night just kept getting better… After the show I had the good fortune of meeting HOT (AKA Daryl Palumbo). LAST NIGHT RULED.

It’s back on bitches.

I did my first post in a long time a few days ago and now I’m just making my self post anything at all. It’s been a crazy busy week.

MONDAY. I had Mike from THE FILMS in town so after I (finally) got my hair done (it was seriously out of control. I drove up to Katana to meet up with him and his AWESOME manager Kevin and a few peeps from the label. After dinner I took Mike to meet up with some of my friends at The Bar. It was fun.

TUESDAY. I rolled into work sleepy and a bit hung-over from the night before (but I had to be there for an early morning meeting). Disturbed played the HOB so I met up with my boss and some other friends for dinner… at where else… Katana again (I swear I didn’t plan this… although I really can’t complain their sushi is yummy!). Anyway, after Disturbed the night just kept getting better. I had Mike meet me at the Roxy and we saw PRINCE fucking PRINCE play. It was AWESOME.

WEDNESDAY. Man is was hard to get up, but I made it to work and on time like a champ (I had another early morning meeting). Tonight we had dinner with THE OUTLINE at CHANDAR and guess who the walked in… TRENT… fucking TRENT REZNOR. It was so freaking SUPERFANTASIC. My week just keeps getting better.

THURSDAY. This morning I work up and I said “I’M SLEEPING IN” and it felt soooooo good. I had a ton of work to catch up on. I had dinner with JOE PURDY and his super-duper manager Brian. All and all today felt productive. Now only if I could get my self off this thing to bed.

FRIDAY. Work and HEAD AUTOMATICA at the ROXY (what what).

Anyways, I know this post is all messy, but I just wanna get back in the swing of giving PINK GLITTER ROCK AND ROLL all the love it needs.

A New Year, A New YOU.

It’s been forever since I’ve logged into this thing and SO FREAKING MUCH HAS HAPPENED since the end last year. First off, I finally left ACIVISON in hopes to go full time in A&R and somewhere between CMJ and hoping on tour busses I landed a full time gig at Warner Chappell (where I’ve been scouting for the last year). I had some relationship highs and lows. Hit up a ton of shows, saw the fam and rocked out with my friends.

Missing in Action.

OK so I admit I've been a TOTAL slacker when it comes to updating this thing... And why? It's not like I'm working two jobs and running around on zero sleep anymore. Hmmmmm????

Anyways, since CMJ I guess I've just been taking advantage of the time off to rest and recoup... Recoup for this week! (it's a big week- see below)

Last night I went to Nine Inch Nails at the Hollywood Bowl, which was FANTASTIC! I went with Hooker and we had the most awesome box seats. Queens of The Stone Ages and Autolux opened. Queens was great, but I have to say I'm not a total fan of Autolux. I've seen them a few time and never really been too into them, but last night sounded like a train wreck. On a brighter note for Autolux I will say, that I am a fan of the drummer- she is super cute and hits hard!

After the show we snuck into the after-party for a few, thanks to Dave. Then after hours of persuasion trying to get Hooks to come with me and see Benji Spin at another afterparty... Sadly, I lost :( and had to drop her off at home, then made my way back to Bwood and called it a night.

**********************************************

NIN and the start of a fabulous week. ..

Tonight 10/2 my babies, The Outline are back in town and playing the Knitting Factory (with The Revolution Smile and Walking Ashland).

Thursday 10/6 my other favorite boys, The Killers are playing Long Beach... Ohhh, I can't wait to have everyone back in town!

Friday 10/7 The Killers play Vegas (still debating if I will be able to last in Vegas for 3 nights)

Saturday 10/8 VEGAS BABY! Motley Crew at the Hard Rock

Sunday 10/9 Hoobastank is playing the Maloof bros birthday party at where else... THE PALMS. How awesome is that. I can't wait! DRINKING WILL BE DRUNK!

Monday 10/10 Jay Leno with guess who... Give up... I'll tell you... The Killers!

Wooooo... What a week.

Also, I will be updating pictures from parties at CMJ and other recent shows
So check it

    GOOD SHOW ALERT

    UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF GIANTS

    Tomorrow (or tonight, I guess)

    Tuesday 9/27 10:30pm

at The Key Club in Hollywood.

    It’s gonna be awesome.

    just a second

I haven’t up dated in quite a little while… but there was just too much movement in my life with New York and CMJ to sit still at a computer and write.

Anyways, CMJ was awesome. I had so much fun in New York. There is a ton to write, but I’m about to go to bed so I will just say I saw some amazing shows which included: The Outline, The Films, Nightmare of you, The Honorary Title (and Jarrod’s acoustic Hotel café show), Clap Your Hands and Say Yea (which I still can’t believe I got into at the last minute) Joe Purdy and many more… I’ll try to write more tomorrow. Xo.

    THIS WEEK AROUND TOWN.

This week has been kinda nuts and kinda mellow… not a lot of shows, but a lot of going out.

Monday was Labor Day and BBQing was in full effect.

Tuesday included a fabulous night of dinner and drinks with a band at Katsu-ya (thanks to Warner Chappell). If you’ve never been to Katsu-ya I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. 11680 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA (818) 985-6976

Wednesday was the 111 Records show at the Troubadour (two WC bands played, Spill Canvas and Mashlin).

Thursday Dredge played Kimmle and as always the min-crew took full advantage of the open bar and free ordure’s.
  • DAN
  • and Zack came too and we ended up at the Roosevelt Pool side with them and Dredge.

(Friday) Last night I had to take off (Chrissy stoped by for a second to say goodbye... I'm gonna miss her) I was completely fried and CMJ is literally around the corning (I leave on Monday).

(Saturday) Tonight is Jean’s Photo show at Swinghouse and you should really think of coming by. Free Red Stripe, awesome friends and cool ass photos taken by Jeanie.

    Also, tonight… Minipop at Spaceland

Woha… how am I ever going to get a good night of rest before New York?
